Version {{ docVersion }} Effective {{ effectiveOn }} Creative Divergence LLC · North Carolina
Summary
ScreenWrite may be evaluated free for 30 days before purchase. At the end of that period editing is disabled, but nothing you wrote is lost: your work stays readable, printable, and exportable whether or not you buy. ScreenWrite is otherwise a one-time purchase. Your license permits use indefinitely, for personal and commercial work alike, and includes every future version we release. Everything you write in ScreenWrite belongs to you. Your license key activates on up to three installations. Resale of the application and sharing of license keys are not permitted. If ScreenWrite does not meet your needs, request a refund within 30 days of purchase. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid.
The sections below set out these terms in full.
01

License grant

This agreement is between you and Creative Divergence LLC ("we," "us"), the developer of ScreenWrite. Installing or using ScreenWrite constitutes acceptance of these terms. If you do not accept them, do not install the software.

Evaluation period. ScreenWrite may be downloaded and used without payment for 30 days from first launch. The evaluation copy is the complete application; no features are withheld or disabled during that period. ScreenWrite does not use accounts, and no registration, email address, or payment method is required to begin.

At the end of the 30 days, editing is disabled. No work created during the evaluation is deleted, hidden, watermarked, or rendered unreadable. Opening, reading, printing, and exporting existing projects continue to function without a license, so that your material remains accessible and portable whether or not you purchase. Entering a valid license key at any time, during or after the evaluation, re-enables editing in place, without reinstallation or loss of work. These terms govern evaluation use as well as licensed use.

Your purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use ScreenWrite indefinitely, for both personal and commercial work. Client jobs, studio productions, and any paid work are included at no additional cost. There is no separate commercial tier.
Activation limit. Your license key may be activated up to three times. Each successful activation counts against that total, including reactivation on a computer previously used to run ScreenWrite. Reinstalling your operating system, replacing a drive, or otherwise reactivating the software will consume an activation.

If you exhaust your activations for a legitimate reason, email {{ supportEmail }} and we will reset your key. This limit exists to discourage key sharing, not to restrict ordinary reinstallation.
Offline use. ScreenWrite contacts our license provider once, at first activation. Thereafter it verifies your license against a file on your own computer and requires no internet connection to run.
02

Restrictions

You may not:
· Resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or redistribute ScreenWrite
· Share, publish, or resell your license key
· Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble ScreenWrite, except where that right cannot be restricted by law
· Remove or alter copyright, trademark, or attribution notices
· Use ScreenWrite to build a competing product
03

Ownership

Creative Divergence LLC owns ScreenWrite, including the software, its source code, its design, and its name. You are granted a license to use a copy; the software itself is not sold to you.
You own everything you create. Your scripts, lining, shot lists, notes, and exports are yours in their entirety. We claim no rights over your work, and we do not read it, collect it, or use it to train any system. Your files are written to your own disk in open formats and remain readable whether or not you continue to use ScreenWrite.
04

Updates and support

Your purchase includes all future updates, permanently. Bug fixes, new features, and future major versions are covered by the price you have already paid. There is no upgrade fee and no subscription.

Support is provided by email at {{ supportEmail }}, answered on a best-effort basis by a small team. We aim to respond promptly.

Features may change or be discontinued as the software develops. Any feature we retire will be noted in the release notes.
05

Term and termination

This license begins when you first install ScreenWrite and continues until terminated. You may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the software.

We may terminate it if you materially breach these terms and do not cure the breach within 30 days of written notice. On termination you must cease using ScreenWrite and remove it from your computers. Your scripts and exports remain yours, in open formats, and are unaffected.
06

Purchase and refunds

ScreenWrite is sold through Gumroad, which acts as merchant of record. Gumroad processes payment, handles applicable sales tax and VAT, delivers your license key, and issues receipts. Your transaction is also governed by Gumroad's own terms and refund policy.
We offer a 30-day refund. If ScreenWrite does not meet your needs, email {{ supportEmail }} within 30 days of purchase and we will issue a refund. No justification is required.
07

Collaboration sessions

ScreenWrite includes real-time collaboration. Only the person hosting a session requires a license. Collaborators you invite may join and work in the script without purchasing the software.

Collaboration sessions are routed through Cloudflare Tunnel, a third-party network service, and are encrypted end to end so that Cloudflare relays your script without being able to read it. The details, including what that does and does not cover, are set out in our privacy policy.
08

Disclaimer of warranties

ScreenWrite is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that ScreenWrite will operate uninterrupted or error-free, or that it is compatible with every system or with every file produced by other software.

Maintain your own backups. Script files are small and difficult to replace. Keep copies somewhere other than your working machine.
09

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for lost work, lost profits, lost data, production delays, or any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of ScreenWrite.

Our total liability under this agreement will not exceed the amount you paid for your license.

Some jurisdictions do not permit certain exclusions or limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10

General

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding ScreenWrite.

We may update these terms for future releases. The version in effect at the time of your purchase continues to govern your copy.
